Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Post by Arthas Sat Nov 06, 2010 7:11 pm

The air in the world of the living that day was calm, mild, and soothing. On a rare occasion, Tenshin had been called down here to deal with a group of souls from the rukongai who had managed to escape the Seireitei, by killing the senkaimon guards and passing through it. As such he had been dispatched to track them down and bring them back- Dead or Alive. He hovered above the ground, about 300 feet in the sky over the infamous Karakura town- a location known for an enormous amount of special humans who had above average spiritual pressure, and even quincy. A perfect place for renegade souls to hide amongst other strong reaitsus. The high altitude winds blew past him, caressing Tenshin's face with their cool hands. He paused for a moment closing his eyes, and enjoying the serenity of the place, high above the ground, unable to hear a sound from anything but the wind. Taking a final deep breath, he shook himself out of his reverie, and focused on the task at hand. He had business to attend to. Closing his eyes, he reached out trying to sense all the reaitsu's he could find in the area. According to intel given to him by the ninth division that the souls were somewhere in the area. Normally, a lower seated 7th division officer would be dispatched on such a task, but most of the seated officers were engaged in affairs within the 58th section of the Rukongai, where there had been reports of unrest. He picked up several dozen stronger than average signals, most of which could be human, or a missing soul, as well as one which he recognized as a shinigami patrolman, and another as a single hollow. Unfortunately, he couldn't detect a discernible enough difference in any of the others to identify them as the missing souls he was seeking. "Great." Tenshin muttered to himself. "Looks like I'll have to do this the old fashion way." Picking out the nearest presence, which was a few hundred feet below him, he descended, searching for the source of it. He landed on soft grass, in what appeared to be a large, open park. It was about 35 feet in front of him that he saw the one he was looking for- a middle aged man, hunched over on a park bench, and quite obviously still alive. However, the man quite obviously felt Tenshin too, as he rose from the bench, a glint of anger in his eyes, and clenched a fist out in front of himself. Instantly, a bow of elegant blue energy took shape, as he roared "Shinigami Bas-" He didn't have time to finish the sentence. Tenshin was already behind him, and with a single flat palm, struck the man in the back of the neck. The quincy crumpled like a towel falling from a clothesline. Turning away from the mans unconscious form, Tenshin began heading towards the next closest being, but then stopped mid-stride his eyes widening as a new reaitsu suddenly burst onto his sensory radar not more than a few miles away, as if out of nowhere- a reaitsu far more vast than any of those he had felt before. A reaitsu he recognized, with a mixture of fury and dread, as an arrancar. He looked into the sky, towards the point where the dark reaitsu emanated from, and sure enough, visible for any spiritual being to see, was a black rip- the garganta.

Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Re: Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Events, or the lack thereof, in Los Noches had been getting on Amarillo's nerves lately, and when he felt the faint stirrings of hunger within his stomach, Amarillo leapt upon the opportunity and excused himself to engage in his favorite pastime: hunting and consuming spiritually powerful souls.

Gliding through the swirling black vortex of his Garganta with skill borne of countless uses, Amarillo couldn't help but lick his lips in anticipation of the meal awaiting him. Having selected a place he'd never visited before, a town by the name of Karakura in Japan, Amarillo strode out the other end of his Garganta with confidence befitting one of the strongest Arrancar in existence and surveyed the hunting ground before him. Extending his finely honed Pesquisa senses, Amarillo was excited to see several worthy candidates appear before a signal far stronger than any of them attracted his attention, one he clearly recognized as a Shinigami.

Deciding it would be rude to not introduce himself, Amarillo closed the distance between the soul reaper and himself with a burst of his well-developed Sonido, appearing in front of him in a flash, causing the grass beneath him to whip around wildly from the winds of his arrival. With a smirk Amarillo sticks his hands into the pockets of his bomber jacket, the motion making the stylized black number two on the center of his chest glaringly obvious. "A Shinigami eh? You're definitely one of the stronger ones I've run into. I'm just here to let you know that I'll be doing some hunting in the area, and as my boss ordered I'm not going to cause you any trouble unless you get uppity and start some." Amarillo says to the bearded Captain with the tone of someone regarding a lower being, his antenna twitching and swaying in the breeze.

Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Re: Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Post by Arthas Sat Nov 06, 2010 9:55 pm

Tenshin stared at the creature before him, his mouth set in a tight, flat line, which hinted at a disapproving frown. The goatee bearing arrancar displayed a smugness and arrogance that Tenshin had grown accustomed to from these wretched creatures. He did not fail to notice however, the elegant #2 inscribed on the creatures chest, which the thing obviously made a point of letting him see, no doubt trying to flaunt his own superiority. #89 had been the same way. As had # 17, and #5. This arrancar would lean. As dozens of his brethren before him had. Without making a move, and calmly locking the the arrancar's eyes with his own, Tenshin replied, his voice calm, and firm "If you were simply a hollow, would be impressed by your lucidity, and give you the opportunity to retreat to your dark homeworld. However,or your kind, espada, I like to make exceptions." That was all that needed to be said. Anymore words were simply wasted breath. Calmly, slowly, Tenshin reached for the sword mounted on his back, grasping the hilt. Then, he closed his eyes for the briefest of moments, focusing all of his reaitsu, all of his might into the blade. And with a single, arcing motion, he removed it from its sheath, the edge glinting in the morning sunlight, and swung down. He was not close enough to hit the arrancar with such a motion, not nearly. But that was not his intent. For the power behind the strike was so condensed, that the sheer force of the blow caused the air itself to surge forward, creating a shockwave of pure air. The trees in the area cracked and split at the trunks, the grass between the two of them was ripped from its roots, and hurtled into the air, as the wave bombarded the arrancar. Meanwhile, Tenshin brought his blade back to a ready position, waiting for the monstrosity to make the next move. Even if it was an abomination, without morals or kindness, Tenshin would still grant it the justice of an honorable death.

Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Re: Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Post by Blur Sun Nov 07, 2010 2:34 am

As the wave from the Shinigami's blade approaches Amarillo, he barely flinches as the air wave hits his chest and dissipates harmlessly against his Hierro. With a smirk, Amarillo removes his hands from his jacket and makes a show of brushing off his chest like there was dirt on it as he says "Not bad Shinigami, that actually tickled." The smirk on his face quickly turns into something eerily familiar to a shark's grin as Amarillo grabs hold of his blade and draws it with a metallic shing.

"I have to thank you Shinigami. I'm not allowed to start fights with your kind, but I'm more than happy to finish them." Amarillo says with a chuckle as yellow energy begins arcing between his antenna, quickly gathering into a crackling yellow sphere of energy in front of them. With the barest of nods, Amarillo lets loose with his fully charged Cero, which launches right at Tenshin in a wide beam of yellow energy, gouging a deep furrow in the now-grassless ground as it closes on him. As the Cero clears, Amarillo appears to be standing in the exact same spot as before, but an instant later another exact copy of him appears right behind Tenshin as well and stabs his blade straight at the small of Tenshin's back.

Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Re: Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Post by Arthas Mon Nov 08, 2010 11:53 pm

Tenshin watched as his technique had noticeably no effect on the arrancar. It didn’t matter. He hadn’t expected it to. It was simply… A warning of sorts. Many in the seireitei would frown upon such a measure of revealing one’s strength to the enemy before the fight had even begun, especially to such a clearly powerful opponent. However, Tenshin would be damned before he tried to use such underhanded tactics. He wanted every battle he fought in for the opponent to know Tenshin’s strength, and thereby, to know why he had lost. To give an enemy, even an Arrancar, anything less, was rude to the deceased—or soon to be deceased. And, as Tenshin stood, his blade poised at the ready, waiting for his opponent to make the first move, and curiously watched the Arrancar build up a cero, with seemingly no move to distract Tenshin from it. Surely the creature wasn’t so arrogant as to think that a Captain couldn’t evade such an attack- which meant that the Espada had no intention for the cero to hit in the first place. Was he simply trying to demonstrate his power as Tenshin had done…?

No… surely a creature had a more effective method than to charge up a cero- even simply focusing one’s reaitsu outward would be a less wasteful method… Which meant… That the Cero itself was being used for another purpose- and Tenshin could only think of one that an Arrancar would use such a flashy technique as cero for if he knew its chances to hit were negligible. Tenshin got on the balls of his feet as he watched the cero near completion, and locked onto the Arrancar’s reaitsu, focusing heavily on its location, and, right before the cero launched, moved using shunpo roughly 15 feet to the right, and saw the blast of yellow energy surge by him. However, he paid little heed to it, as he felt what he had been waiting for- the sudden shift in the location of the Espada’s reaitsu, giving him enough time to gracefully side-spin to the left, as the sword of the Arrancar struck fiercely at where the small of his back had been. Less than a moment after the Arrancar had stabbed through the air, the instant before his spin was fully complete, Tenshin’s blade struck downward diagonally towards the creature’s exposed side, aiming to potentially sever an arm, or slice through the monsters ribcage and lungs, with a single, clean slash.

Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Re: Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Post by Blur Tue Nov 09, 2010 3:24 am

Amarillo isn't all that surprised to see Tenshin avoid his Cero with ease, and although his follow up attack tracked the Shinigami as he moved, Amarillo couldn't help but widen his grin as the man evaded that as well and smoothly shifted from evasion into attack. Aborting his obviously failed attack before he overextended himself, Amarillo brings his blade up to meet the Shinigami's, soul weapons meeting in a shower of sparks. Flexing the muscles under the steel-like skin of his right arm, Amarillo is able to halt the Shinigami's strike several inches from his body.

With the attack stopped, Amarillo moves his free left hand behind his back out of view of Tenshin and generates another Cero in his palm in a fraction of the time it took for the first one. Instead of whipping it around at Tenshin however, Amarillo closes his hand on the Cero suddenly, causing it to split into nearly countless numbers of angular yellow beams of spiritual energy that arc out around Amarillo to close in on Tenshin from the sides. At the same time, Amarillo increases the pressure on Tenshin's blade, making it clear that a wickedly fast attack will lash out should he back off.

Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Re: Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Post by Arthas Tue Nov 09, 2010 1:04 pm

The arrancar was quick; Tenshin had to give it that. As their blades locked, and grinded, it was an excellent opportunity for him to test the arrancar’s strength- and it was not unimpressive, as he felt the pressure increase on his blade, but nevertheless, he was able to hold his ground. Tenshin realized that with a single hand on his blade, he would make no headway in overpowering the arrancar. As he considered this, he was quick to notice the arrancar’s withholding of his second hand behind his back-- and the all too familiar sound of a cero beginning to build up behind his back. So that was it then -- with the force on his blade, Tenshin realized that attempting to back off would be followed by a swift series of blows- which would be severely challenging to evade- however, for the arrancar, as he pushed back on the sword lock with his own blade, should it choose to back off Tenshins response would be equally deadly -- it was just a matter of who would back down first – and Tenshin would meet that challenge. Raising his left hand, so that the palm was facing the arrancars face, he began to chant.

“Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens.” As the incantation finished, he watched beams of light streak out in all directions from behind the arrancar’s back, but he finished the kido, directly in front of the arrancar’s face, with only a few feet to spare, yelling “Hadou 73, Twin Lotus Blue Fire, crash down!” From the palm of his hand, an enormous pillar of blue fire, nearly 40 feet in diameter, twice the size and strength of its level 33 counterpart, burst forth, removing the arrancar from sight. However, as soon as he had cast the kido, he immediately leapt backward, looking at the beams of energy converging on him from all sides, and realized he could not avoid them all- which meant he had no choice left but to block them. But he knew he couldn’t block from that many directions at once – unless he did something insane. He wasn’t even sure if it would work, but he realized it was the only way he could protect himself from all of the beams without overexerting himself. Placing his hand on his own chest, he cast another kido. Realizing he had no time for the incantation, he simply muttered “Bakudo 43, Ice Block.” He felt Ice almost instantly form around him, and lost all ability to move, leaving his hand on his chest, looking as if he were a frozen sword wielding priest of some kind. The beams crashed all around him slamming into the ice block, sending chunks of ice flying away with each strike, but not quite penetrating all the way through. Finally after the barrage had ended, the ice block was so far damaged, Tenshin simply had to ‘flex’ his reaitsu, and it shattered around around him, the reaitsu-based ice falling to glittering pieces, as he looked to see how his opponent fared, trying to sense where the arrancar's reaitsu had gone.

Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Re: Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Post by Blur Tue Nov 09, 2010 5:14 pm

Amarillo is not surprised to see Tenshin using their clash to make a point-blank attack as well, but his eyes do widen somewhat in shock at the power of the attack coming his way. Thinking fast, Amarillo waits until he senses the peaking surge of reiatsu in his opponent that signals the attack about to fire, and just manages to get out of the way of the attack with the use of his advanced Sonido technique, leaving an afterimage behind to be struck head-on by the attack. Now clear of the technique, Amarillo is rather impressed to see the Shinigami using one of their binding spells on himself to avoid Amarillo's specialized Cero.

Not one to pass up even the smallest opportunity, Amarillo continues his use of Gemelos Sonido, leaving a second afterimage behind Tenshin, apparently about to try stabbing him in the back again. The real Amarillo, however, is roughly 10 feet up in the air. Acting quickly, Amarillo draws the edge of his blade lightly across the palm of his left hand, drawing a line of midnight black blood. Amarillo then points his palm at Tenshin's frozen form and concentrates reiatsu into that hand, causing a reaction only possibly by Espada: the Grand Rey Cero. As his reiatsu comes into contact with his blood, a swirling mass of black and yellow energy begins forming in Amarillo's palm, quickly growing to easily 4 times the size of Amarillo's normal Cero. With a grin that threatens to split his face, Amarillo sends another pule of reiatsu into the swirling mass, causing it to fire straight at Tenshin in a massive beam of black and yellow energy 20 feet wide that seems to destabilize the very air around it, such is its power. The blast move quickly, reaching its target and hopefully engulfing it before continuing on, drilling a huge hole deep into the earth.

Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Re: Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Post by Arthas Wed Nov 10, 2010 12:59 am

Tenshin watched – or more overly, felt the arrancar move behind with blinding speeds as he broke free the ice block, and didn’t waste a second- even though less than a split second later the reaitsu had already moved once more. Bursting forth with all his speed, Tenshin shot forward nearly 40 feet, using multiple shunpo in his fastest movement technique- an ability he had classified as ‘mirror image’ – a technique where he moved fast enough using shunpo to leave an afterimage- albeit a somewhat hazy one, at the location he had just been. He cursed himself for being forced to use it- but he had been expecting another attempted stab toward his back, and if such a blow had landed, Tenshin likely would have been doomed. He realized that was not the Arrancar’s intent a split-second too late. However, when he turned around, he saw, almost to his amusement, that his opponent had done the exact same thing, as he watched an image of the creature stab through his own—though his was slightly less corporeal appearing. Then, glancing up at the new location of the arrancar’s reaitsu, he had just enough time to raise a hand to his face as a blast wave shot out of the its now bloodied palm, creating an enormous, massive cero that seemed to cause the very light around Tenshin to change colors. However, the blast pounded the ground where both of the afterimages had stood, Tenshin thought that perhaps, his own use of such a technique hadn’t been such a bad idea after all. But now, with the cero still launching into the creatures palm and pummeling its way through the earth, Tenshin had an exceptional opportunity that he had no intention of squandering. It was time to get serious.

Holding his zanpakutou in front of his face, so the flat of the blade was facing him, Tenshin whispered the words “Reveal the Light of Heaven, Ten-no-Te” As he uttered this phrase, the entire length of the blade seemed to glaze over, as if it were aging, but became purely, pristinely white, as did the rosewood grip, causing the sword to become a mixture of white and gold colors—causing the sword to become the instrument of judgment it truly was. Tenshin raised Ten-no-Teup above his left shoulder, and swung down in a wide slash. As he did this a wave of golden energy seemed to emit from the blade, imitating the motion Tenshin had just done, on a much grander scale. This energy shot towards the opponent as Tenshin finished the swing—and would arrive just in time to greet the arrancar as it finished its cero.

Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Re: Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Post by Blur Wed Nov 10, 2010 3:15 am

Amarillo couldn't help but watch in annoyance as Tenshin managed to get out of the way of his attack, which quickly turned to surprise mixed with a bit of glee as the Shinigami moves to the first stage of release on his blade. Realizing that he will be unable to evade Tenshin's ensuing attack in the second it will take him to recover from firing his Grand Rey Cero, Amarillo turns his head to point at the center of Tenshin's attack, charging and firing off a Cero in record time. The blast holds off Tenshin's attack just long enough for Amarillo to use Sonido to barely move out of the way of the attack, the edge of the blast searing off part of the left sleeve of his jacket. "Almost got me with that one Shinigami." Amarillo says with a relieved sigh as he looks at his damaged sleeve.

Not one to let up, Amarillo then immediately jumps behind Tenshin with another burst of Sonido, where he charges another Cero in his left hand in the blink of an eye and thrusts it at Tenshin's unguarded left side. Well aware of his opponent's mobility, Amarillo converts the standard Cero into his personal Descanso version by clenching his hand around the energy, firing countless streams of energy at point blank range, safe in the knowledge that the veering paths of the attack won't hit him should the Shinigami dodge behind Amarillo.

Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Re: Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Post by Arthas Fri Nov 12, 2010 12:04 am

Tenshin observed, as the arrancar did its best to hold back his holy energy, watched as it was forced to throw a cero into the wave of golden light just in order to escape is path. However, as he had expected, the arrancar did the exact same thing as it had done several times before—attempt to use its sonido to take Tenshin’s back. And this thing called itself the segunda? It obviously hadn’t reached that position on tactically creativity, that was certain, Tenshin mused, for as the arrancar appeared behind him, he was already spinning towards it, but, his eyes widened as he realized it was he who had been taken for a fool, for rather than the sword strike he had been anticipating, and ready to parry, the arrancar was thrusting a rapidly formed cero straight toward what was now his stomach. Nevertheless, Tenshin finished his slash at the arrancar: a blow that would slic neatly down, and potentially through the creatures torso, and grabbed its cero wielding arm with his left hand, knowing that he couldn’t stop the momentum, he let the cero detonate, but as he did he uttered an incantation, “Twin serpents descend from heaven, and enshroud my foe, the emperor's twin pets,--“ as Tenshin finished this first half, the cero, now crushed between the arrancar’s fingers, detonated. Beams of energy blasted into him at multiple points on his body , one on his leg, several on his torso, one hitting his arm, another the base of his chin. The burned, and stung as they hit, but he held tight, and managed to gasp out the last bit of the incantation “constricting into the four sectors with 8 dragons on their heels. Bakudo 86, Twin Serpent Bind” As he said this, two long, thick, winding beams of energy formed on his arm, and snaked down over the espadas, and in very short time would enwrap his entire body. Even if it tried to pull away now, his arm was bound with Tenshins, locked in place. It was exactly where Tenshin wanted it. Even as the smell of seared flesh began to fill his nostrils, and pain coursed throughout his body, Tenshin realized that because of the nature of the arrancar’s cero, none of the damage in any one area was too terrible, and furthermore, he had his enemy exactly where he wanted it. Raising Ten-no-Te above his head, so his arm covered some of his face, he brought the blade down again, hard and fast, with a strike that would sever the now bound creature in half should it connect.

Amarillo vs. Tenshin Empty Re: Amarillo vs. Tenshin

Post by Blur Fri Nov 12, 2010 7:15 pm

Expecting a counterattack from the speedy Shinigami, Amarillo whips his head to the left, quickly charging another Cero between his antenna, and fires it as Tenshin's slash, throwing it back out of position before looking on in a mixture of surprise and grudging respect as the man takes Amarillo's attack in order to grab hold of his hand. That look quickly turns to one of horror as the purpose for grabbing him becomes clear. "Another damned Shinigami spell! I have to act fast or I'm finished!" Amarillo thinks as he sees Tenshin begin the incantation even as he's struck by Amarillo's attack. Realizing he can't risk letting an unknown attack take hold completely, Amarillo whips his sword down at the shinigami's arm, aiming to at least sever the tendons in it, while twisting his trapped hand violently, breaking the contact between the two combatants and taking the shinigami's arm off at the elbow if he doesn't move fast enough. With Tenshin's sword completely out of position due to Amarillo's Cero, he is able to use Sonido to jump to safety in plenty of time to avoid the second slash.

"That was impressive Shinigami. Didn't expect you to have the stones to take my Cero just to grab hold of me. That deserves a reward." Amarillo says as he wipes the sweat off his brow before leaning over to brace himself on the ground in something akin to a three-point football stance. Bringing his sword to point away from his lower back, Amarillo's face breaks out into a positively murderous grin as he shouts "Pierce and consume, Fuerte Aguijón!" Seconds after Amarillo bellows that phrase, a blinding flash of yellow reiatsu explodes from his body, and the sound of many thousands of bees buzzing in unison fills the immediate area. When the light subsides, Amarillo is barely recognizable compared to before. The plain white remnant of the Hollow mask on Amarillo's head is now vibrantly colored in yellows and blacks and has slid down to replace his normal eyes with the compound eyes of an insect while his antenna have nearly doubled in length. From his back extend two majestic, six-foot long hornet wings. Amarillo has also grown a hornet's thorax from his lower back, from the end of which extends a wickedly sharp stinger easily three feet long. The rest of his body is now covered in an exoskeleton eerily similar to a hornet's.

"Let's start round 2 then." Amarillo says as the wings on his back begin to flap, rapidly gaining speed until they're moving so fast onlookers can only make out blurs. Lunging forward from his ready position, Amarillo appears to be starting a head-on charge when he suddenly vanishes in a burst of Sonido so fast it appears as if he teleported to all but the sharpest of eyes, appearing instead next to the unconscious Quincy that Tenshin had incapacitated before the battle had started. Reaching down with his now-free right hand, Amarillo lifts the unconscious man by the front of his shirt like he weighed no more than a feather, and with a flick of his wrist flings the man straight at Tenshin with such force that he will become nothing more than a smear on whatever the Quincy hits should no one catch and slow him down.

At the same time Amarillo is doing that, his jaws are moving in a chewing motion, and an instant after he throws the Quincy, Amarillo spits out a dense glob of gray wax along the same path. As the glob flies, it is obscured at first by the flying form of the Quincy, but as it closes on the man it begins spreading out, eventually growing wide enough to completely engulf Tenshin and the unconscious Quincy by the time he and the glob are a split second from reaching the Shinigami. With his wax on the way, Amarillo vanishes in another burst of Sonido, moving behind Tenshin for a split second before leaving behind an afterimage so enhanced by his speed boost that it's a near perfect copy, bringing its fake stinger up to stab at Tenshin's back.

Amarillo then moves directly above the Shinigami, where the hives on Amarillo's shoulders start disgorging a swarm of two inch-long hornets with oversized wings. In seconds there are easily two hundred plus circling Amarillo, and with a simple signal from their master the swarm streaks off at startlingly fast speeds, heading straight for their Shinigami target, spreading out to swoop in from multiple directions, each hornet detonating with terrific force.
