Mai is a small girl, seeming to be tiny in stature at least being 4’5”. Her figure is quite frail as well to go with her tiny stature, at least being 78 lbs. She has bleach blonde hair with dyed electric blue tips, and random electric blue highlights running through her hair; that is usually tied back into a messy pony tail which always looks like it took her seconds to make. When her hair is actually down though it is relatively straight and is at shoulder length. She also has piercing blue eyes, which stand out against her pale white skin.

Her outfits usually consist of clothes that are bulky and hide most of her skin. Mostly having a large hooded sweat shirt that falls just above her knees, very baggy blue jeans to hide her tiny figure, normally some black converses, sunglasses, and fingerless leather electric blue gloves. Underneath her large hooded sweat shirt and baggy blue jeans is usually a simple red tank top, and a simple pair of midnight black basketball shorts. Going with this attire she has silver studs in both her ears, and no make-up whatsoever.

When she is forced to be in her shinigami attire, she wears the normal uniform every shinigami wears with a "few minor" adjustments. Hers is cut in the middle which would show her belly if she didn’t have an assortment of brightly colored bandages covering her belly region. The other differences in her outfit is that the bottom part of her outfit is cut short so that it is at finger tip length, she has no sleeves, and she has knee length socks that are the same colors as the assortment of bandages covering her belly.




Personality: Mai can easily be described as a contradiction taken life. While her appearance marks her as a seemingly outgoing and rowdy person, her actually personality is quite different. Quiet and slightly timid, Mai rarely speaks out loud, especially to people she doesn’t know real well. She is a very kind individual, caring more about the people around her than fighting, something that she was picked on at a young age during the Academy. This led to a current case of very low self esteem and doubting, something that could be seen as a slight case of depression if interpreted incorrectly.

When she is called to do her duty however, her entire personality seems to change, and become more focused, more confident. She is a sight to watch in battle, and can actually be very blunt and out spoken in such scenarios, her mind being focused on something else than the supposed flaws that have been pointed out to her throughout her life. Her true self shines in these moments; a confident, intelligent, courageous woman who cares for people.

Throughout her time as a Captain though, changes have been noted throughout Mai’s personality, something not easily noted. She has slowly become more confident, and outspoken as per her position, yet still retains the seemingly fragile personality, coupled with an internal battle over the low self esteem she has had her entire career.

Zanpakuto Description: other then being indestructible, this zanpaktou has no other abilities.

Released Zanpakuto Description:

Mabushii Iki - Her most basic attack. Mist begins to collect around the hilt of her blade. She angles the sword horizontally, with the hilt up by her right shoulder, held with both hands. A stream of reiatsu is then shot out from her sword, taking on the form of her sword's element of mist, and spirals toward her opponent; which will explode on impact due to the explose reaitsu placed into the mist.

Mabushii Kasumi - This ability once activated will make her zanpaktou disperse and create a gigantic mist. This mist will cover the entire area and makes it impossible to see in the area. This mist is controlled by the user completely meaning they can thicken it at there will. It makes everyone in the area completely blind, also it shrouds the users spiritual pressure making it almost impossible to find her.

The next ability is that the user is able to close there eyes and utilize the mist to sense and see in the area. This means they are able to see in the mist by utilizing there Reaitsu that is scattered throughout the mist.

Also this ability can be used without Mai having to actually be holding her zanpaktou. Though if she does this it takes far more concentration and usually she uses it just to make her zanpaktou scatter into mist, come to her, than reform back into her zanpaktou.

Mabushii Tsunami - The next thing is that it can utilize this mist to confuse the opponent. The user can harden there reaitsu into solidified forms that can live in the mist using the water molecules as substance. They are Undefeatble while in the mist unless they are evaporated away. The ‘clones’ can only cause physical damage through contact. They leave a sense of water as they hit which can slow an opponent down as the hits collect. The clones can be dispersed by physical attack or kido attacks but they can reform after that. A max of 5 ‘clones’ can be made.


Mabushii Chiyu - This ability once activated will make her zanpaktou disperse and create a mist that is 10 feet by 10 feet. This mist will float where ever Mai directs it to be, and has a greenish cast to it. When someone/something is inside the greenish mist all injuries will begin to heal. This is done because the greenish mist is filled with healing kind of reaitsu that slowly seeps through whoever is inside its pours and speeds up there healing process. Once done the mist will seep out of whoever is in its pours and will form back into its released state.

The down side to this is it leaves Mai weaponless while whoever is inside the mist is being healed. Also another downside is that if whoever is inside it is regaining a limb the limb will come back with a strange design to it; which varies by whoever is being healed, also the limb will not be as strong as the original.

Bankai Information
(This applies to captains, and advanced lieutenants only)

Bankai Description:

Misuto Chi Sokubaku: Once activated this technique will disperse into a translucent blueish mist, that forms like an extra layer around Mai's arms. The use of this technique is that for every hit Mai lands on her opponent portions of the mist will seep through her opponents pours, and begin to restrict the blood flow of that designated area. If hit in the same spot more than once then more blood flow will be blocked.

The downsides to this technique is that it leaves her essentially weaponless, and for each post that she uses this it takes one point away from stamina and one from speed.

1st Hit: Makes that body part and below (ex. If Mai hit your arm then this would also affect the your hand) go to sleep, making that body part harder to move and have constant aches.This lasts for 4 of the opponents post, and then it'll wear off.

2nd Hit: If hit again in the same spot, then it restricts more blood flow, making that body part turn a purplish color; making that body part and below unusuable for atleast 3 of the opponent's post.

3rd or more Hit(s): If hit in the viscinity (example the first two hits where at the arm) again then it will render all use of that body part. Leaving it immobile for the rest of the topic, and hit multiply after that it leaves it useless in and outside of that topic.


Note: if the affects of the first hit wear off before getting hit again, then it acts as the first hit again. Same goes for if the second hit wears off, and third, and so on.

If Hit in Chest or any belly region

1st Hit: All this will do is send the mist, which will travel throughout your chest region, making breathing harder; and taking atleast one stamina point away from the opponent. This will last for 2 posts.

2nd Hit: What this will is make the opponent's breathing even worse, possibly vomit, and take away another stamina point. This will last for 2 posts

3rd Hit or more: Will do the same, making breathing worse and worse, and taking away stamina points with each hit.

10th Hit: Will force the opponent to pass out from lack of blood flow going throughout the body.


If Hit In The Head

First Hit: Will cause dizziness, and taking one point away from accuracy. Will lasts for 3 posts.

2nd Hit: Will take away another point from accuracy and one from stamina. Will also lasts for 3 posts.

3rd and so on: The same as 2nd Hit. Will also last for 3 posts.

8th Hit: Will cause the opponent to pass out. (varies)

10th Hit: May cause death. (lasts for forever!)




Misuto Nankan: What this technique does is very simple. All it does is disperse her zanpaktou, or the mist surrounding her arm, and makes it into a mist that is in a dome like shape. The Mist particles are heightened with reaishu giving it a dense feeling to it, and they are swirling in a fast motion (150 mph) around whever Mai wants. What this does is block kido up to 50 and strength up to 20. For each post this shield is up it takes 2 stamina points away from Mai.

History:

Human Arc
Ever since Mai was little, she was reminded over and over of her family's stature and how she was going to have to take control of it all. Of course at first this was exciting to a small child. To be boss of everyone, to be well known and adored. Who could want more? Little did she know that what came with this title is more responsibility, and the need for more knowledge.

Once she entered Preschool, her parents began to teach her everything about the family business. They continued their studies of the business, until she reached Kindergarten; by then they started to teach her all they knew about anything dealing with medicine, ranging from the technology to the research. This is when she finally realized that, this job wasn't going to be all fun and games, which was still alright with her, so she continued her studies.

As the years passed she learned not only about all the challenges of the family business, but also of all the other jobs the other kids her ages were interested in. This made her jealous; how come they could chose their careers but she couldn't? She loved the career path that she was on, but she was upset that she didn't get to choose it herself; she knew this made her sound spoiled but she just yearned for the day when she got to choose something herself.

Slowly, envy entered Mai's heart, and she began to rebel. She began to ask her parents for freedom to choose things for herself; like being able to pick out her own clothes, to decorate her room how she liked, to be able to study something new. Her family wouldn't have it, so she began to rebel. Secretly she began to buy her own clothes, and began to slack in her studies.

This lack of interest horrified them so they let her have some more freedom by letting her pick out her own friends and clothes, but she would have to have an arranged marriage. The envy grew, each day she thought about the arranged marriage. It seemed like every time they took a step to giving their daughter happiness they took two steps back.

This time she made her rebellion less subtle, so that they wouldn't take more freedom from her. She kept her studies up; but she became more secluded, and distanced herself from her family. The only time her and her family really talked was during her studies and that was it.

Than on Mai's 15th birthday a hired assassin from a rival medical company came and shot her family. Due to the company's own personal gain the assassin stole Mai, and took her to the company's lab; where they experimented on her over and over. Eventually the strain became too much for her body and it gave out and she died.

Shinigami Arc

Mai one day woke up in a strange place, having no memory of how she appeared here and what happened before she appeared here. It seemed off, to have no recollections of anything, yet it gave her an inner peace. So, for her first 5 years she spent just living her new life; buying some land and started farming. Until one day a random shinigami commenting on her high spiritual pressure, and how she should join the academy.

So, Mai joined the shinigami academy and tried her best in everything she did. She was exceptional in hand to hand combat, kido, and of sword fighting; which helped her graduate from the academy not at the top of her class but very close. Out of random selection Mai was placed into the 4th Division, as an unranked officer; due to her being too young to have a seated position.

Slowly, Mai worked her way up until finally she made it up to the Third Seat. At first she held that position with honor, not wanting to go any higher; wanting to stay in the back, yet have the authority to not be pushed around all the time. Mai stayed like this for twenty long years; twenty years of following orders, twenty years of watching her captain be lazy and not supporting the rest of the squad.

Her quiet demeanor, and lack of confidence held her back from opposing her captain, until that fateful day (ha cheesy line, sorry had to point it out). Mai walked into her captain's quarters to find her captain screaming at two unseated shinigami about how incompetent they were and how they should of never became shinigami; personally Mai didn't know the shinigami, but yet it snapped something in her. It made her angry.

Her mood took the best of her, and she challenged her captain to a match; a match for her captain's rank. The next morning, the spar began; at first all they did was use basic kido and hand to hand fighting. Yet, that got them nowhere, so the captian went all out, to bankai. The captian's bankai was a definite risk, it could be powerful in the right hands; but due to incompetency it was horrible. It was a ticking time bomb.

Going into her shikai, Mai cast a mist across the arena; so that she could wait. She knew if she just waited awhile and stood out of the way, she'd win. This didn't seem right though, it was a coward's way to win. So, instead she made the mist disappear; and restricted her captain's movements with Six Rods Prison Of Light. With that she attempted to finish it, but it was too late; the captain's bankai was at it's limit and exploded due to unknown reasons. Quickly, Mai switched her sights, instead of attacking she went to defense and attempted to save everybody who was near, atleast the ones who wouldn't be able to get away.

Everybody who was near was saved, all except the captain. To Mai, it seemed like an unfair fight, but yet to the captain commander it seemed like a fair fight, and he gave Mai 4th Division captaincy. Over the years, Mai has felt the guilt of not rightfully earning her title, but she holds it with honor. Helping everyone in and not within her Division.


RP Sample:

Devvy

A pleasant book store; a place of solitude and knowledge. Even with the rambuctioness and the distractions outside this place still seemed to have its own aura eminating from it; it still held that feeling of comfort. The book store's looks didn't exactly hold up though; as it was tiny, maybe about 20 feet by 20 feet. On the outside the place seemed to be very dull; with its wihte walls, white doors, and even white room, the only thing that really stood out was the sign next to it that big suprise was white saying "House Of Knowledge."

On the inside the book store seemed actually very different. It seemed to still have its quiet aura about it, yet it looked fun. The walls on the inside were actually a burgundy color, the ceiling keeping the same white color as outside, inside was only four bookshelves that were kept in the middle of the store, surrounding an oak pole; next to the door was a blue table with a cash register on it, obviously supposed to be where you bought the books problem was though no one was sitting behind the table, scattered aroud the room though seemed to be out of character some leather chairs for reading at.

Sitting ontop of one of the chairs was a girl, a blank face was across her face as her grey eyes seemed to eat up the book that was placed in her lap. Her shiny brown hair was hidden by the grey hood that was lifted up, due to the chilly air out side. The attire that this girl was wearing was an over sized grey hoody with "Laura's babysitting company," marked on it with orange letters, some baggy blue jeans that were obviously held up with a belt, some black converses, and strangely out of character her golden band with the Peridot stone in the shape of a heart was gone.

With an audible moan of effort, the girl got out of the chair and picked up the vast amount of books she wished to purchase. Taking delicate, dancer like steps she walked over to the table; her body seemed to sway along to some type of invisible music that only she could hear. As she neared the table her bell like voice shattered the silence within, matching that of the disturbance outside. "Exscuse me, is anyone here."

A gravely, deep voice eminated from some place unknown to the girl. "Just leave your money on the table and write on a piece of paper your name, number, and address." Puzzlement crossed the girl's face as she dug the right amount of money out of her back pocket; throwing the wad on the table, she took out a piece of paper and a pen out of her right front pocket and began to write.

Ever

A sigh escaped the doll's lips, she didn't want to be here; enjoying the enviroment, she wanted to be there protecting her bounto with her life. I don't like being away from Devvy. Another sigh escaped the doll's lips, as she crossed a spare mirror from the house of mirrors. This one must be a defect since its showing back a perfect image.

In the mirror stood a girl, or atleast what seemed to be a girl. The girl had piercing blue eyes, that made her obvious paleness stick out on her face; her features seemed to be painted on, a fake smile with eyes that still showed worry. Upon her forehead was a headband that was pure midnight black; flowing over the headband was her long green hair, that stood out in spikes, that seemed to make her look even more pale. Her attire consisted of a black tank top, a black skirt, some black fingerless gloves, and black combat boots. If you put all this together it seemed to give her a sickly pale look, which seemed to bother her master greatly.


Flashback

There sitting on the very bench, that the third seat is on now was Devvy and Ever; they were looked exactly the same as they do now, except for the fact that Ever seemed happier. She was with her master, and she could protect her; yet Devvy looked sad. "Ever, I want you to have fun today. You spend too much time protecting me, I want you to have fun and have a life to its not fair for you to always follow me and take command." Shock crossed Ever's face. "I will do whatever you want, Devvy. Just promise you wont get in harms way." A smile crossed Devvy's face, the sadness now gone. "Of course."



Ever

Again a sigh escaped her lips, as she passed the fun house and walked bac k to the bench; deciding that she'd just wait for Devvy to return. As she approached she noticed to spiritual pressures; both felt like shinigami, yet they looked harmless. With a simple blink of the eyes she changed her spiritual pressure so that it felt like that of a normal humans, in hopes that they wouldn't figure out what she was, and she could wait for Devvy. I hope they don't sense Devvy's spirtual pressure.
