Basic Information

Name: Yamane Paksennarion (Paks)

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Grade: Not applicable.

Looks: Paks is a slender girl, bordering unhealthily skinny due to her habit of forgetting to take care of her body. She has a frail build, and is by no means strong. With an oval shaped face and delicate features, she doesn't exactly stand out. Her eyes are dark, a blackish-brown which seem to turn purple in some lights. Long brown hair grows out to a little past her shoulder, cut into layers and left down. Her skin is extremely pale, almost to the point of being gray.

Paks' physical body moves somewhat awkwardly, and her gait is a bit off due to a broken leg that was badly healed. One of her arms is twisted inward a bit too much, and her opposite wrist is bent as well, both the same product as her leg, broken bones that never healed correctly. In general her body is liberally coated with light bruises from bumping into things or falling over.

Rank: Advanced Human

Human Special Ability Information

Name: -

Description: Paks’ ability is the use of psionics. Her mental capacities are incredibly inhuman due to her parentage. From her father she gained this strange control over psionic abilities. Her skill with these abilities is vast, practically omnipotent. At the moment Paks structures her abilities into two main categories. Mental psionics and physical psionics.

Mental:
- Paks can read others emotions, absorb them from someone leaving them emotionally numb, and project emotions into someone to force them to feel something.
- She can take on the pains of others to induce healing into them.
- She can see and read auras, spiritual energy, other energies and emotions from long distances away and with an extremely high level of proficiency, this includes spanning dimensions. She can sense Reiatsu even if someone has cloaked themselves, and can read a friends aura with whom she’s created a link no matter what should be blocking her from their mind.
- She can see visions or hear that which is hidden or far away.
- Paks can enter the astral plane, bringing items or other people with her.
- She can project her consciousness into minds, including for an offensive attack. (psionic blast)
- Paks can turn her physical body into a construct of the astral plane, a soul-self which has the same qualities as the black energy from the astral plane. While in this soul-self form her empathic abilities are more easily used.

Physical:
- Paks can communicate mind to mind with people, sending them words and images. If she creates a mind link between herself and others they can even communicate back. She has minor telepathic abilities.
- She can use telekinesis to move/levitate objects with her mind.
- She can manipulate elements with her mind to a small extent. (cyrokinesis, pyrokinesis, hydrokinesis, aerokinesis, geokinesis, photokinesis)

These psionic abilities allow her to tap into black energy. A separate energy form from the astral plane which can have a concussive force, or be used as shields and in a telekinetic manner. The black energy does not have a reiatsu signature. It even blocks reiatsu from leaking through if someone was enclosed in it almost as if it’s a void. (On that note, she actually has the reiatsu signature of a mere human, not even a spiritually aware one at that, because her powers come from her lineage and not reiatsu.) Her ability to use black energy is dependent on Paks' mental strength, her willpower. Emotions, thoughts, inhibitions, all will effect both her efficiency and overall ability to use her powers. If she is completely devoid of emotions, and totally centered the black energy turns white and has purifying powers. (Able to purify Hollows)

Weakness:

Because Paks’ abilities are so omnipotent, they put a serious strain on her mind and body. A human is not meant to host such powers, even if they are only half human the tension is immense. While Paks has control over her abilities in the sense that she can properly use them when needed, she has no real control. Most of her abilities have no off switch. She is constantly bombarded by emotions from the people around her, the glow of people’s auras, pain that others are feeling, images from far away which superimpose over her real sight, etc. Basically, her abilities, while vast, make it extremely hard to exist and function in the real world.

Aside from that, to use her abilities with any real strength behind them, she has to be calm and in control of her emotions. Paks' powers are fueled by her emotions. She cannot use them properly if she is influenced by her emotions, but if she has a total lack of emotions then there is nothing to work off of. If she gets too emotional, her power escapes her grasp. And thus she has to balance on a careful line with her emotions and powers.

As an added hindrance, because her powers are based so strongly on her mental strength, when she channels a lot of power it tends to take a toll on her physical body. Like extreme exhaustion, sometimes her power ravages her body, burning through fat before moving on to muscle, sometimes even rending, etc.

---

Techniques Information

Technique 1 - Blanking - Paks can enter a meditative state during which she becomes totally blank. All emotions roll off of her, and if she is injured in this state the injury would automatically be projected to someone else. Paks does not need to eat or sleep to maintain this state and once in it she doesn’t need to breath either as her physical body falls into stasis. As long as Paks is in this state she cannot use her powers to harm anyone in either a physical or mental manner. The only way this would injure someone was if they were to hurt her while she was in this state. If she chooses to, Paks can hide her aura completely. This is a purely defensive technique and allows for no offensive action while it is activated.

Technique 2 - Shadows - This technique allows Paks to use some of her energy to form a shade of herself. A doppelgänger if you will, this shadow functions as a separate entity. It can think on its own, and even utilize Paks' powers, although her offensive powers are greatly weakened in this form. It appears for all intents and purposes to be an exact replica of Paks in whatever state she was in when she made it, even emitting the same reiatsu signature.

Paks can possess the shadow if she wishes, allowing her to control it and allowing it more access to her powers. However while possessing a shadow, Paks' real body is left in a catatonic state, unable to move or react to anything going on around it.

A shadow can be destroyed with any serious injury, and when struck down it will simply dissipate into the air. However such an action immediately alerts Paks as she feels pain for the loss.

Paks can at times choose between forming two different versions of shadows. The first being the one described above, and the second is a far simpler one which takes less energy. The difference being that the second shadow isn't fully established in the human realm and thus its body is intangible, and unable to touch or be touched.

Cooldown - 3 posts for the normal shadow; 2 posts for the intangible shadow.

Technique 3 - Memory's River - Using her skills, Paks can absorb other's memories or project her own into someone else. Through the process of absorbing a person's memories, a weird side effect happens. By contact with the person's mind, in conjunction with taking the memory her powers tend to take a sample of the person's personality and form a psyche back in Paks' head. Several rather extreme issues crop up because of this, the first being that Paks now has to deal with another personality within her head, the strain of which grows the more she uses this power as the psyche never fade. The second being that in moments where she losses control, these psyche can temporarily seize control of her mind and thereby gain control of her body until she manages to reign them in. The third being that even with her own mind, sometimes an absorbed memory is stronger than her real memories and it may superimpose over her rational thought process, bring fears and other emotions that shouldn't effect Paks and yet inexplicably do.

Cooldown - The cooldown for this technique is a bit weird. There is no official cooldown, however the more people Paks tries to absorb memories from within one topic, the higher the chance she has of totally losing control of her head. One person is okay, two at a stretch but even then the effects on her mind begin to grow strenuous. Three she could achieve, before having to spend a large amount of time maintaining control of her mind so as not to lose it to another presence. Four is possible, although at that point she is liable to not be the persona in control of her body. Anything past that would be incredibly difficult, and result in grievous issues for Paks' mental state, which is not including the fact that she has to deal with these new persona's after she regains control of her mind.

History and RP Sample

History: Paks’ mother led a troubled life. Originally from America, she ran away from an abusive family and lived part of her life on the streets. At one point, she met a man who called himself Adam, and after that she was pulled into the intrigue of a burgeoning blood-cult. Adam was charismatic, intelligence, eloquent, empathic, and more beautiful than any man should have the right to be. Words fell from his lips like honey, and the destitute and depressed people flocked to him. At some point he began stylizing himself as a prophet, placed on earth to lead those who had been wronged in their revenge.

As his following grew more obsessed and removed from reality, their actions grew more and more pronounced. Violent outbursts against random civilians, coupled with extreme drug use soon brought the authority down on this cult. At first they naively held to their actions, and the ensuing crackdown which put many of the members behind bars at least temporarily convinced Adam to relocate with his most faithful.

And so he did, handpicking those who were the most under his thrall, he repositioned his flock in Japan. Paks’ mother being one of those chosen to go with Adam on his quest for their “rightful home.” Smarter now, and more wary of the police, Adam began to preach of an Armageddon. Of the arrival of a tool which would enable the cult members to bring down the fury of the demonic entities they so worshipped and destroy those who had done them wrong. Along with this prediction, Adam ensured that his followers would stop their random lashing out, wrapping them ever closer in his grasp and keeping them isolated within the compound they were living in. Drug use was more easily ignored by the law, but aggression against other humans was the one line he was not willing to step over again.

And so time went on, and the cult grew bigger once more. And as it grew bigger, the depravity and insanity grew. Eventually, after acquiring several old occult books, Adam managed to learn how to open a portal into the underworld. Intending to draw out a demon which would fulfill their revenge against humanity, the cult preformed a ritual they had no real knowledge of. In the end, they did manage to open a portal to the underworld and attract a demon, however it didn’t go quite as planned. Several members of the cult lost their lives that night, several more committed ritual suicide as part of the ceremony, and on that night, Paks was conceived.

By the time the sun began to rise, the portal had closed and the demon had left leaving a macabre scene behind. Salvaging the remains of his original plan, Adam called forth to the living members of his followers. From the blood of the sacrificed cult members would be born their long awaited tool he claimed. And sure enough, nine months later, Paks’ mother gave birth to a child.

Paks’ childhood can only be described as abnormal. She lived within the cult’s compound, never leaving the building and hardly ever venturing to the higher levels. She was taught by Adam, and thus received a worldly education. Along with academics though, Paks was also taught the less blatant teachings of a child growing up within a patriarchal society removed from real society along with reality.

She was preened as their tool, the being who would initiate Armageddon on their behalf. Their expectations were not unfounded, for even as a newly born child it was obvious she wasn’t entirely human. Paks held an uncanny awareness, and she grew much too quickly. Along with that growth came off abilities. She could sense people before they entered the room, and she could always find whoever she was looking for. Odd black energy tended to manifest around her body when she was agitated, levitating random objects or lashing out and breaking them. Wherever anyone looked, signs of her demonic blood were evident.

Paks had an extremely hard time controlling her abilities, and they grew at such an exponential rate that whenever she held some modicum of restraint they would slip the leash. It became harder and harder for her to live normally, or as normally as the people she was around lived. In the end Paks had to spend most of her time isolated, so that the presence of others wouldn’t effect her precarious control. And during that time alone she would work steadily on her mental control, attempting to reign her powers in with her growing mental willpower.

At one point it was decided that Paks simply had to go through a metamorphosis in order for her powers to be controllable. There were several attempts to draw this metamorphosis out, but when rituals failed and prayers failed and all the other odd attempts barred no results, it was thought that perhaps what needed to happen was a life or death situation. For surely in such a situation her powers would evolve and reach a whole new plain of existence wherein she would be able to control them.

After some deliberating as to how they would achieve such a situation, Paks’ mother attempted to beat her “to death.” It was a sign of how truly manipulated the cult members were that Paks’ mother could agree to such a thing, and that Paks herself thought it necessary and thus went through the process without hesitating. In the end they had to stop when Paks was near death, and no outpouring of sudden power had occurred. Because the cult lived so isolated, she was unable to go to a hospital and was instead prayed over until her body healed normally. Because of that several of her bones never quite healed correctly.

When their first attempt was viewed as a failure, they decided to wait to see if anything had happened without them being aware. And indeed, after that incident Paks’ control grew leaps and bounds above what it had been, although no one was quite sure if it was an actual result of the life or death situation, or just her growing into her powers.

Eventually, her sheltered and insalubrious life changed. The cult was completing another ritual, and once again they got in over their heads. Dabbling in affairs that no human should touch. On that night they managed to open a rip between the worlds, and attract several monsters hungry for blood. There was enough spilt blood in the room to act as a beacon, and soon after the creatures stepped through the portal utter chaos erupted.

Adam actually held some innate skill with magic. In the big scheme of things, he was a small fish in a large ocean, but amidst his posturing there lay true ability. And so when disaster struck, and the monsters began to tear into his followers, he made his way over to the most important part of the cult. Paks. And when he reached her, knowing that the monsters would wipe out the cult as they knew it, he quickly called upon the powers within him and managed to transport them away from the scene along with a few of the highest ranking members, leaving the others to sacrifice themselves for the good of the few remaining.

Adam was skilled enough to initiate transporting the handful of people, but his skill leveled out when it came to getting them all in one place. And so Paks ended up appearing in the middle of a busy street in Karakura Town, her first time in the outside world and without any of the people who had told her what to do her whole life. It was terrifying, and the strain of so many minds in one place nearly threw her out of control. And so Paks retreated, slowly building up her control until she could walk through the streets without being overcome by the presence of so many minds. And she did the only thing she could in such a situation. She tried to survive, and she waited for the others to come and find her.

RP Sample: Paks sighed softly, her hand falling to her side limply. She needed to go somewhere else... Perhaps out of the bustle of the humans. But in a city like Karakura that was easier said than done. And besides, she didn't know the layout that well either, having resorted to pulling herself into the astral plain almost as soon as she had appeared in Karakura. And that certainly didn't lend itself to learning geography. Well, not really, not in a sense that would actually help.

Across her awareness she was suddenly cognizant of a blinding light, the glow which had been muted amongst all the auras of humans surrounding her suddenly called to her attention. Lifting her head, Paks craned her neck back in order to gaze up towards the bright aura. She couldn't quite look over the rooftop. The aura wasn't moving though, which made her wonder if whoever it was was looking down at the people below. Surely she couldn't stand out? She never stood out. At least not in a crowd. When it came to actually interacting with people she stood out like a sore thumb. It probably couldn't be any worse than if she jumped up and down and shouted 'Look at me! Look at me!'

Well, even if they were watching, if someone tried to confront her, she would just disappear. That was simple enough, and Paks certainly didn't want anyone knowing she was here. Well, anyone supernatural that was. And that aura was definitely bright enough that it couldn't be anything but a strong supernatural.

Her wayward thoughts suddenly pulled to a halt as a tall form slipped off the side of the roof and plummeted - The loud smack of flesh against asphalt didn't seem to draw any of the human's attention, and the crowd just seemed to naturally curve around the fallen body. She blinked in a bemused manner, trying to reconcile her earlier thoughts of this being a strong supernatural with the vision of this fallen spirit. After all, who fell off rooftops and then just laid there?

For a moment her eyes drifted back up to the rooftop. Perhaps he had been fighting or something? And got pushed off? But she couldn't sense anyone else up there. Looking back at his crumpled form, Paks hurriedly crossed the busy sidewalk before pausing a foot or so away from him. The odd feudal period type clothing surprised her as she drew closer, especially his choice in color scheme, but she brushed past those emotions as the spirit met her eyes and began to speak.

"Good afternoon, madam... Sorry for the sudden intursion, believe me, I hadn't planned it either. I now notice you seem dismayed; there's no need for someone so pretty like you to dirty your face with saddening tears. Again, my apologies, I am in a painful situation myself, seeing as I just fell from a building. My name is Ichijouji, captain of the seventh division, how may I service you?"

When he was done, she blinked again, staring somewhat blankly at the man. "Etou... " Captain of the seventh what? And why was he asking about her when he had just fallen off a roof? That was a rather long fall, and supernatural or not it should have done some damage. But she couldn't feel any anxiety rising off of him, and only faint traces of pain. If his words hasn't puzzled her so, that certainly would have done the job.

Giving him a strange look, Paks dropped to her knees next to him. If he had fallen, and he hadn't gotten up, did that mean he couldn't? It would be odd otherwise to just remain where he was, but this man seemed odd to begin with. "Etou... It is nice to meet you Ichijouji-san..."

Without waiting for a response, because she was really beginning to think this man had hit his head or something of the like, Paks held her hands out over his prostrate body. Focusing her mind, she siphoned the pain away from his psyche gently in order to promote healing in his body. There was a surprisingly little amount of pain to absorb, and Paks sat back on her heels to observe the "captain" with wide eyes when she was finished.

The ability to reverse pain has got to go... in my opinion you have way to many different abilitieis thats just me. But being able to remove whatever wounds you have onto others is basically like a perfect shield, unless they kill you in one hit, you cant lose. Your psionic blast has to be able to only work up to a certain level. you can't go around shattering anyones mind you want. how much telekenisi? Are we talking enough to blast away a city, or enough to lift a chair and throw it. Also, im not sure about being able to perfectly mind read... this in theory gives you the right to perfect metgaming, although id need another mod/admins opion. Also: Astral plane, what does this mean, and how exactly can you use it. other than that, well written app. Very Happy.

XP Firstly, Pakse is extremely OP. I understand it, I'll see if I can get her into some semblance of acceptance however. This sort of app. I usually only post on a site where the people actually know me, otherwise how do you know I'm not going to just go blast something, right? ^^

Hanagaya-san, Paks can't move... really. I mean, she can walk, but running is sorta out of the question. So... yeahs. Does she still need a 5 strength?

Arthas-san, if I may explain that first ability. Yes, it's a perfect shield. However... Paks doesn't ever fight. If someone attacks her, then the shield kicks in. However, she doesn't ever initiate or even complete fights, she just sorta runs away. That ability is incentive for people not to attack. (If that isn't a good excuse, I understand and I shall remove the ability.)

Psionic blast cannot shatter minds, if not just because the empathic waves from her target would shatter Paks' own mind. It's just a minor attack, no rending minds into puddy or whatnot. (Most of her attacks are actually more of a bother to use than anything else, as the pain from her opponent messes with her head.)

Telekinesis goes as such:

20 lbs - no cooldown
50 lbs - 1 post cooldown
100 lbs - 3 post cooldown
200 lbs - 5 post cooldown
400 lbs - 7 post cooldown
800 lbs - 10 post cooldown
1000 lbs - 15 post cooldown
2000 lbs - 25 post cooldown

Telekinesis is really just picking something up and moving it, not holding something down or anything. So that's a chart of the weights of items she can pick up and then the strain doing so causes.

Where does it say mind read?

Astral plane is a new age concept, which is a conceptualized realm between the living world and death, in this case SS. The manner in which Paks uses this is that she can open a portal to the astral plane and drag herself into it. Then she can move around and pop back out. (Limited to human realm travel, no interworld traveling or sudden hello HM.)

Your memory ability, to know everyones memories.... Astral plane i expect you to stay within speed limits. Im going to have to deny the perfect shield... if you do ever fight, its still OP, i know you dont intend to, but, all the same... other than that eveything is ok ^_^

...That memory technique is far from mind reading. It is an active act on Paks' part to absorb something. Not constantly, and not at all in a mind reading fashion. And there are enough repercussions that she would think twice about using it, and never casually.

Is the healing by absorbing someone's pain still acceptable, as that's a variant of the whole projecting pain/injury thing?
