Im taking over Ace's spot. lets do this.

Arthas strode through the newly opened gate, towards the sunlit entrance to the arena. He looked up at the bright morning sky, squinting his eyes as he did so. He had been waiting in the dark preparation area for about 20 minutes, and the bright light now temporarily blinded him. He was eager to start his fight, in this tournament of tournaments, and was eager to see who his opponent would be. A light breeze swooped down on the wide Arena, where Tournaments and demonstrations of old had once been held. The vast grandstands were now empty, and the silence was eerie, as Arthas remembered he had come here many times when the crowd had been massive observing a fight or a demonstration. The floor of the arena was covered in a layer of dirt, the perfect ground for a fight such as this. He grabbed his haksho in two hands, and threw it aside, the powerful wind catching it and tossing the cloth garment aside, into the stands. The sunlight gleamed off his now revealed plate armor, as his cloak blew back behind him. He then focused on the other side of the arena where he saw his opponent arrive in the arena. He didn't recognize the person but it obviously wasn't a shinigami, he had no robe, nor zanpakutou. They were about 1000 feet apart, the wide space between them giving them pretty of room to manuever. Arthas withdrew Frostmourne, the claymore catching the sunlight as well, as he saluted his opponent, before bursting into motion. Moving at lightning speeds, he shunpoed acorss the arena, gripping his zanpakutou with two hands at his side. As he closed the distance, he brought his blade up rapidly in a powerful uppercut, which if it solidly connected could end this fight before it even began.

Bankai Tournament Light vs. Mr. Cartamuanda Empty Re: Bankai Tournament Light vs. Mr. Cartamuanda

Post by Nonko Ryuuza Tue Aug 25, 2009 5:54 pm

A cold wind blew through the empty arena. Whistling could be heard on all sides, an effect the wind had on all the holes and gaps. Trees blew in the cold wind, sending pine needles to the ground below. A jack-rabbit skittered across the arena, getting to cover before anything happened to it.

Nonko walked out of the waiting area slowly, looking around. His open shirt fluttered in the wind. The chill made him tremble with anticipation and cold. It would be awhile before he got used to the cold wind blowing through the hole in his chest. He lifted his hands up and let his shirt drop off, blowing away in the wind.

A resonating sound filled the empty arena, the unsheathing of his Zanpaktou, Ikazuchi Zetsumei. Nonko looked across the arena for the first time and noticed another man. He smiled evily, it was a Shinigami. In the blink of his eye, the Shinigami was already across the arena, swining his blade up at him.

Nonko jumped backwards, just barely blocking the attack. The force of the blow sent him flying back, knocking him into the Arena wall. A groan came from his mouth as he hit the wall. He sneered at the Shinigami and Flash Stepped in front of him, jumping as he came into focus and slicing down at the man.

Arthas didn't fell his blow connect, but the force of the reaitsu filled wind behind the swing had still taken its toal. He smiled grimly as the monstrous espada was hurled backward, slamming into the arena wall. How he detested these creatures! He would take pleasure in dishing out suffering to this one while he defeated it. His thoughts of victory were short lived though, for the Espada moved at blinding speeds, speeds that even impressed Arthas. However, a combatant who had fought thousands of battles, he had no trouble following such speeds. Placing one hand on the flat side of his zanpakutou's blade, he held it up above him with both hands, parrying the espada's powerful overhead strike. The creatures strength was also impressive, as Arthas' boots dug into the ground beneath them under the force of the blow, kicking up small mounds of dirt. But then, he gathered his strength, and let out a loud roar, pushing back with all his might, shoving the espada away from him. Then, Arthas used his new found space to his advantage. He used perfect footwork, wielding his blade in both hands, and began spinning rapidly, his blade creating a whirlwind of reaitsu filled slices. He was a blur, seemingly spinning like a wheel, as he spun towards the espada, prepared to slice the monster to ribbons with his technique.

The blow he had dealt to the Shinigami didn't connect. Nonko grimaced as the man knocked him back with his block, sliding through the dirt under his feet. He looked around quickly, analysing the situation. To his left was a pine tree, surrounded by a thick blanket of leaves. He smiled and waited for the man's attack.

Nonko was surprised when the Shinigami attacked. The man started spinning rapidly, moving in with blinding speed. Nonko knew if he didn't do something soon, he would be obliterated. Just as the man reached him, he Flash Stepped towards the tree, narrowly dodging the attack.

Nonko kicked off the tree, coming straight to the Shinigami. His left arm started throbbing and he looked down, seeing a deep gash. He groaned and raised his right hand, pointing his finger straight out at the Shinigami.

"Cero!"

A green blast of energy came forth from his index finger, shooting straight for the man. He hoped to repay him for the cut he had. If the attack didn't connect, he would have to use one of his stronger attacks, something the Shinigami wouldn't see coming.

Arthas elegantly stopped his technique, as he saw the espada dissapear. He had hoped to land a hit, but he had at least forced the arrancar back some. As he stopped spinning he took a ready postion immeadiatley, sensing his opponents reaitsu above him. He watched as the espada used a technique that was all too familiar to any hollow-slaying shinigami. The classic cero. Arthas grinned, calling out to his opponent "It'll take more than that to hurt me, monster." Taking his sword back in its two handed grip, he began spinning it rapidly once again, in a different style this time. He spun it vertically out in front of him, expertly twisting his wrists, causing it to make a windmill of reaitsu right in front of him. The cero came forth, and collided with his blade barrier, where it was reflected off, slamming into the side of the arena. Now it was Arthas' turn. Stopping the spinning motion. Arthas held up his palm, uttering softly "Hadou Number 73, Twin Lotus Blue Fire Crash Down." Instantly, an enromous pair of columns of blue energy shot out of his hand, dwarfing the cero that had been shot at him moments ago. The wave of energy blasted the tree, and hopefully took the espada with it.

As the blast from the Shinigami's attack came at Nonko, he Flash Stepped out of the way, the back on his hair singing off. This man was starting to get him angry and it was time to use one of his stronger attacks. He had appeared behing the man, who was still looking at the spot of his attack. Nonko grinned.

A soft breeze helped Nonko get higher as he jumped up. He jumped about twenty feet above the Shinigami, still looking at the man's back. Nonko opened his arms wide and started focusing all of his Reiatsu to his Hollow hole. He planned to use one of his custom attacks, Shado Eruption, which he had created a good fifty years earlier.

Black particles came from the air around him, forming a orb the size of a man's head over his Hollow hole. He pointed his finger down at the man was he release the orb, a black beam shooting forth from his chest. A evil grin corssed his face.

"Hey, turn around or you might die!"

Arthas smiled as the espada used his speed to escape the damaging hadou. He kept track of the creatures reaitsu however, and knew where the creature was attacking him from. You're fast he called over his shoulder "Youre fast" The Espada's beam came toward him, but this time Arthas noted that the espada's attacks weren't terribly accurate: this beam was a few yards off center. Taking advantage of the poorly aimed beam, Arthas flashed stepped out of the way of the espada's attack, going the shortest distance possible, escaping the attack range by quite a distance. However, Arthas was still stunned by the power of the attack, it nearly shoved him over despite how far away he was from the blast radius. He had to be careful not to be hit by that attack, it could really hurt him. Flash stepping again, he was at the espada's side once again murmuring "However, I'm not slow either." He swung his zanpakutou down rapidly, the blade gleaming in the sunlight, as he aimed for the espada's jungular vein.

((short, sorry once again Note, due to Plagued Blade (my zanpakutous ability) you have lost 3 speed an strength due to the grazing blow i landed) ))

The Shinigami dodged the attack while he was watching. Nonko cursed softly. This fight wasn't going so good for him, he might even have to use his release soon. He didn't want to get beaten by this Shinigami and he would do anything he could to win.

A shimmer in the air before Nonko warned him of the Shinigami coming. His blade rose just in time to block the attack, barely keeping it away from his throat. He put his face right in the Shinigami's and growled at him, a evil sneer on his face.

Nonko used a burst of Reiatsu to knock the man back through the air, following it up with a Flash Step behind him and swining his Zanpaktou through the air. His arm was a blur as it headed for the base of the Shinigami's neck. He gritted his teeth, hoping the attack connected.

Arthas cursed as he was forced back through the air. The espada was good, Arthas had to give him that. He watched as the Espada Flash stepped, and muttered "Oh shit" under his breath. He was not at all prepared for the attack, and he just barely was able to pull his sword up to block with one hand, but in a poor grip. The espada's sword clashed against his, and gradually began to get closer to his neck Arthas realized he couldn't keep this up for long, in moments his enemies sword would pierce his throat. He could only see one option, so he decided to show this espada his true strength. Gritting his teeth, he grunted "Hunger, Frostmourne." His zanpakutou suddenly shown briefly, and rapidly transformed. The entire length of the blade changed, the blade widening, and glowing blue runes becoming etched down the entire lenght of Arthas' Zanpakutou. The espada's progress stopped, and Arthas tensed his muscles, and shoved with all his strength, which thanks to his release was greater than that of his foe. After he gained a little ground, he didn't hesitate a moment to retake the offensive. glowing blue reaitsu flowed over Frostmourne, covering the runed blade in eerie blue light, and increasing its power many fold. "Now you die." Arthas said in a calm, level tone to his Espada opponent. He shunpoed, closing the distance, and swinging the super-charged Frostmourne at the Espada's side expertly, hoping to cut his opponent in half with one blow.

His attack had almost landed when the Shinigami released his Shikai. The force of him releasing had knocked Nonko back a good distance away from the man. He sighed as he leveled himself out. He had forced the Shinigami to use his Shikai. How exciting!

When the man moved, Nonko barely saw him coming. He had to give it to the Shinigami, he was faster than before. There was nothing to do but to keep from dieing though. He held his Zanpaktou in a two-handed grip, hoping to keep his blade if everything went bad.

The man appeared beside him, swinging his blade for his side. Nonko grinned and swung his sword down, blocking the attack. He gasped with surprise. The force of the attack knocked his left arm out of socket and he was knocked back thirty feet away from his opponent.

"Damn, your stronger than I expected!"

He popped his arm back into socket, grimacing slightly. The man was good, but not good enough. He Flash Stepped at the Shinigami, not attacking. When he was face to face with the man, he Flash Stepped again, out of his reach. He smiled and shot three Bala at him, laughing slightly.

"You think this is strong?" Arthas muttered under his breath, surprised by the esapada's acknowledgement of his opponents power. "You have no Idea." He followed the espada's movements, and while his advance-retreat strategy using flash steps caught Arthas slightly off guard, it was nothing he hadn't seen before. Quickly raising Frostmourne above his head as the bala shot toward him, Arthas waited till the last possible moment before swinging down, yelling the word "Deathstorm" A huge wave of green-black energy shot out of Frostmourne, equal to a level 85-90 hadou spell. He knew that bala's specialty was in their speed, not in their power. The powerful wave of Death energy crushed the first bala, then the second then the third with barely any trouble, and continued without a hitch. He doubted that the Espada would be prepared for such a counter and hoped he would be able to cause some serious damage with this attack. If not, he had a backup strategy as well, as he began to mutter the words of a kido spell.

Nonko frowned as his bala were knocked away like they were nothing. This guy was stronger than he had expected and he was pushing him to release. The powerful Bakudo attack was coming right at him and there was nothing he could do. Nonko grinned and crossed his arms, focusing all of his Reiatsu.

A bubble of dark energy surrounded Nonko, the Bakudo passing by harmlessly. As the attack hit the wall behind him, the bubble popped, blasting the arena with a tidal wave of Reiatsu. Trees bent low and a small tornado of sand and leaves swept around the expanse of the arena.

Where the bubble had been stood a completely different man. A tail had sprouted and he had grown two wings. His Hollow mask, which is normall on his right cheek, was now like a king's crown on his head. Instead of the black hair he normally sported, it had turned blue. His Reiatsu was radiating off of him, a maroon color going out in waves.

"Come, I have unleashed my full power. Let's see what you've got!"

He Flash Stepped forward at a blinding speed, slahing down at the Shingami with incredible speed. His Zanpaktou hadn't changed at all, but he was now faster than he had been before.

Bankai Tournament Light vs. Mr. Cartamuanda Empty Re: Bankai Tournament Light vs. Mr. Cartamuanda

Post by Arthas Tue Aug 25, 2009 10:19 pm

Arthas was momentarily surprised by his opponents new speed, and wasnt able to adjust quite in time: He was able to deflect most of the blow thanks to a skillful manuever with frostmourne, but the espada's sword came damn and sliced into his armor like a hot knife through butter, the thick steal had barely even mitigated the attack. Arthas was fortunate he had managed to deflect the main force of the blow otherwise the espada may have indeed cost him his arm... or worse. But this fight was over. Arthas gritted his teeth through the pain and grunted out the last words of his kido, the most powerful spell he knew, "The emperor's of the skies and world are destroyed, as the cataclysim ravages the world. Hadou number 99, BIG BANG" He gave one last smile at the espada, and then he lost sight of his opponent, as the explosion rippled outward. The Huge force ripped outward, tore the sky and shook the very earth. The force of the blast would give even a captain commander a problem on the outskirts of it, at point blank range, this espada stood no chance agains this penultimate hadou. The bright glowing explosion, laced with stars as the cosmos poured out its fury on Arthas' foe, lasted for almost a full minute, before finally, the energy faded, and with it, hopefully had Arthas' Opponent. He drew in a deep breath. The effort had cost him but he was by no means exhausted... he just hoped that the blast had completely annihilated the arrancar who had come so close.
