Basic Information

Name: Jack Appleseed

Age: His actual age is 395 but he appears to be a 23 years old man.

Gender: Male

Division: 6th Division

Seat: Captain

Looks:
While Jack is rather small with his height of 5 feet and 6 inches, he has an athletic body mainly build for endurance and speed. Through his long and somewhat playful curly brown hair, pierce two cold black eyes which seem to be able to look into someone's soul. Because he’s always dressed in the usual Shinigami clothes with no sleeves, he doesn’t stand out much. He does however have two fairly distinct features.

Firstly, he has an ugly scar which runs from the middle of his chest over his neck and stops around his right cheek. Secondly, a large tribal tattoo which is concentrated around the number 6 and completely covers his right arm. As Jack isn’t someone who make a big deal about personal hygiene, he usually has a scruffy unshaved look.

Alignment: Neutral good

Personality:
Jack can be best described as a calm, intelligent and calculated man. He tends to observe every situation thoroughly before making the most rational reaction. Due to his lucid thinking, some people portray Jack as an emotionless fighter without creativity. He doesn’t tend to care too much about old traditions and outdated laws because he believes that a person is more than capable enough to choose between what is considered to be good and what is considered to be evil. Although Jack’s nature is free minded, he respects the chain of command and will follow orders no matter what. He has a kind personality and has a lot of patience. There’s however one thing he hates above all and that’s a traitor.

Due to his tendency of rational thinking and his physical build, Jack dislikes fighting head on. Because he has to rely on his cunningness and speed, he’s not shy to use tricks, distractions or ambushes to win a fight or useful information. Next to his job as Captain of the 6th division, Jack enjoys drinking a good pint of beer and playing a game of chess. Due to his friendly nature, you won’t see him picking a fight in a bar even though he could easily crush his enemy to mere smithereens. As he’s pretty shy around woman, you won’t see him flirting except if he’s drunk.

Zanpakuto Information

Zanpakuto Name: Eregansu (‘Elegance’)

Zanpaktou Theme: Poison

Unreleased Zankpaktou Appearance:
The unreleased appearance of Jack’s Zanpaktou is that of a katana. The zanpaktou is very graceful with its dark green handle and black cord wrap. The Zanpaktou lacks a guard and is slightly longer and thinner than the ordinary Zanpaktou which comes in handy with Jack’s speed orientated fighting style. Jack always wears his Zanpaktou on his left hip and the sword’s sheath has a dark green color.

Zanpakuto Release Phrase: Eregansu, let your elegance flutter upon this world!

Released Zanpakuto Looks:
After Jack has cited the release phrase, the Zanpaktou exhibits a greenish sinister glow. Slowly the blade will become longer and thinner. Meanwhile the handle slowly shortens and a very stylish twisted guard appears. The sword can be best described as an old fashioned rapier. The sword, which has a length of about 3’4”, is made out of a special greenish material.

Even though it seems to be a light thrusting weapon, the rapier is quite heavy due to the chemical composition of the sword. The material out of which it is made has two features: firstly if it’s in a gas or liquid phase it has the characteristics of a hallucinating poison, secondly in its solid form it behaves as a strong but heavy metal. A mystifying green line, which contains liquid and irregularly branches off until the edge of the blade, runs from the base till the tip of the blade.

Spoiler:

Released Zanpaktou Abilities:
The main ability of Eregansu is its capability to spread a hallucinating poison in someone’s bloodstream upon contact with the skin. The poison has a lag of 1 post until it starts taking effect. The symptoms range from nausea, anxiety attacks, hallucinations till the shutdown of major organs. The severity of these symptoms are correlated with the amount of poison that’s present in someone’s bloodstream and the strength of someone’s reiatsu in respect to that the wielder of Eregansu. To be short, how more Erengansu makes contact with an opponent how more the poison will start effecting him/her.

Next to Eregansu’s main ability, there’s the possibility to eject the cutting blade from its handle. This gives the wielder the power to shoot the blade from a distance to his opponent or when stabbing his opponent to let the blade get stuck in him/her and thus maximizing the effect of the poison. Automatically after the blade is ejected a new cutting blade attached to the handle will appear.

Zanpakuto Spirit:
Eregansu takes the form of a graceful green-haired woman around the age of 27. Her eyes have a deep green almost hypnotizing color and there’s always a playful smile on her face. Most of the time she’s dressed in a large black cape which covers her entire body, and a hood which covers her face. Eregansu’s character is the complete opposite of Jack. Most of the time she follows her gut and urges Jack to do the same. She’s stubborn but righteous and believes that anyone can achieve anything as long as they train as hard as they can.

Zanpakuto Realm:
In the realm of Eregansu everything is made out of the material of which the Zanpakuto is made of giving it a dark greenish color. Eregansu is able to transform the entire dimension to her will by liquefying and solidifying the metallic material.

Bankai Information
(This applies to captains, and advanced lieutenants only)

Bankai Name: Venomous Eregansu

Bankai Description:
In its Bankai shape, the rapier is completely dissolved into a huge cloud of poisonous liquid droplets. Its wielder can now control these particles with his mind. Not only can the wielder direct the molecules to whatever direction he wants, he can also control the phase transition of these molecules. This means that he can partially liquefy or solidify a cloud in all kinds of forms, ranging from a sword to a wall. How stronger its wielder becomes, how better he can control the cloud and how bigger the cloud he can maintain.

Bankai Looks:
After releasing the bankai, the Zanpakuto disintegrates into millions of liquid droplets creating a venomous cloud around its user. Being surrounded by an expanding cloud of poison, the wielder quickly undergoes some obvious physical changes. Most remarkable are the color changes that occurs in the eyes and the hair which will completely turn poisonous green.

History

~Betrayal~
Jack was raised as a normal boy in a small town around the south of Great Britain. In his youth, it quickly became obvious that Jack had a gift for strategy and logical thinking as he beat his grandpa with chess around the age of 6. Due to his intelligence, the British military was interested in Jack at the young age of 12. Pulled out of his peaceful neighborhood, Jack was enlisted in the army at his 13th birthday. Surrounded by more children of his age who shared his intellect, it didn’t take Jack long to flourish in the army. During the following years, he developed a firm military strategic insight. It wasn’t a big surprise that by the age of 18th he already led his own division. Short after receiving his division he led his division to concur Africa, more specifically Egypt.

In Egypt, Jack proved to be a superb leader. Although he always followed his orders from higher up, he had the tendency to bend them to what he thought was real justice. One has to also think for himself and not just blindly execute orders. If the order was given to invade a certain village, he wouldn’t take the quick and dirty way by letting his squad murder all the inhabitants. Jack’s way to invade a village is much more subtle. Firstly, he would overthrown the council of the village with as little causalities as possible. Secondly, he would let the villager believe that they’re better off with him than the previous ruler. While this is the most humane way of invading a country, it’s also the most dangerous and time consuming one. Even though some higher placed officials were unhappy with the fact that Jack didn’t always followed their orders to the letter, they couldn’t take actions against him because he was still recognized as the prodigy of the British Army.

Of course there are more ways to get rid of a person than just lowering his rank, thoughed the higher placed officials as they bribed Jack’s best friend Brian, who had accompanied Jack from the age of 16, with a ridiculous amount of gold and promises that he would led the division afterwards. So one night it happened that the prodigy of the British Army, who was only 23 years old at that time, was tragically murdered by his best friend with a simple but effective cowardly stab in the back.

~The Black Page~

As he first woke up in the outskirts of Rukongai, Jack couldn’t believe his eyes. He was positive that he was stabbed to death by what he thought to be his best friend. How come he was able to walk around in this new world. As he explored his neighborhood the first month, he quickly came aware that luck wasn’t on his side. He was revived in the poorest region of Rukongai where street scum lived on the street. Unable to shed of the betrayal of the one person he trusted most, Jack decided that the only way he could survive was to go with the flow: become a thief himself. Jack decided however from that he wouldn’t follow the path of total darkness like all the other scum. He will would become thief of thieves, outsmarting his victims by using not more than his cleverness. With his cunning tricks and scams, Jack rapidly became known throughout the region of Rukongai.

His life as a thief of thieves went on for some years until he crossed paths with a gang leader Ichiro who challenged him to a simple game of chess. The rules were rather simple: if Ichiro won the battle, Jack had to work under the command of Ichiro. But if Jack won, Ichiro would have to give all his money to Jack. As the stakes were high, many people went to see this epic duel in foxiness between Jack and Ichiro. Even though Jack was a trained chess player in his days on earth, he was quite rusty and overconfident. Due to the fact that Ichiro wasn’t a bad chess player himself, the game that would change Jack’s life lasted very long. After more than an hour of chess, Jack had finally put Ichiro check mate. Not coping well with his loss, Ichiro grabbed a knife he had hidden into his right sock and stabbed Jack in his chest. A fatally wounded Jack fell on the ground and closed his eyes praying that he wouldn’t wake up again in this backstabbing world.

Slowly opening his eyes, Jack found himself in a small but totally white room. Even though there was a large bandage covering his entire chest and right side of his face, Jack sat straight and looked at his savior and future teacher: Jirou.

~The Rise~

Apparently an old shinigami Jirou who loved to drink in the outskirts of Rukongai, witnessed the chess game between Jack and the gang leader Ichiro. Impressed by Jack’s cunningness, Jirou had saved Jack’s life in order to put Jack’s talents at better use. One lead to another and soon Jack was allowed to the Shinigami academy which he passed with ease. The choice of which division he should enter was easily made as Jirou was a member of the 6th division. Steadily rising through the ranks of the 6th division, Jack quickly surpassed Jirou. Due to an incident in which Jack discovered the Shikai of his Zanpaktou, Jirou died an horrible death at the hands of a rogue Shinigami.

Swearing alliance to the 6th division and Soul Society no matter what, Jack became a seated member of the sixth division.

~The dawn of a new era~

Steadily climbing to the ranks of the sixth division, the former Captain of the 6th was impressed by Jack’s loyalty and the way how he handled certain stress situations. By being the sole survivor of a sixth division large scale operation against a group of Vizards, Jack was awarded with the seat of Vice-Captain of a devastated Sixth division. Thriving in his new position, Jack coordinated many chases for rogue shinigamis. These risky missions made Jack famous throughout Soul Society and ultimately gave him the nickname: “Hunter of the Vizards”. As the former Captain of the 6th division became less reliable and began acting strange, the real force behind the Sixth Division became its Vice-Captain: Jack Appleseed. As a taken of his loyality to the sixth division, Jack placed the showy black tribal tattoo on his right arm.

Maybe the most difficult part of Jack’s history was the day that he received a letter of the 1st division captain ordering Jack to track his friend the Captain of the 6th division. The Captain had apparently left Soul Society without permission and it was Jack’s duty to locate him. Not aware of the fact that his Captain had become a vizard many years ago and left Soul Society for always leaving a ravaged sixth division behind. Something snapped in Jack when he saw his former Captain put on a vizard mask. Feeling betrayed by his friend, Jack challenged his Captain to a fight till the death.

An epic battle began between Jack, who hadn’t even discovered his bankai yet, and the former Captain of the Sixth Division. Discovering his Bankai in the fight, Jack fought for what he was worth against an opponent who was much stronger. Seeing how Jack fought without fear and with so much passion reminded the former Captain of a younger version of him. In the end the former Captain let Jack deadly wound him on purpose. Severely wounded and crying, Jack had to made the promise to the Captain to once again let the Sixth Division shine like it’s suppose to shine. The fight left Jack with one huge scar starting from his chest until his cheek which always reminds him of the fact that you can never completely trust people.

Rising from the ashes, the Sixth Division under the command of a reborn Jack has been steadily growing to its former glory…

Back to Earth (Begin of the Shikai Arc): 1099 Words
“Having trouble keeping up old man?” laughed Jack as he was leaping from one building to another. It was a straightforward mission: catch and bring back. For a moment Jack felt like he was some kind of pet detective which was send on an assignment to catch a lost bunny. But he shouldn’t complain too much. He asked for an “outside Soul Society” mission and almost immediately, in Soul Society terms, he got one. That Jirou was responsible for giving a young but strong Shinigami a chance like this was rather obvious. Even though Jirou was an old man and wasn’t the most strongest Shinigami in the 6th division, he had much more to say in the sixth division than other maybe stronger Shinigami like Jack due to his experience.

“You should conserve some of that youth energy you have for when we have to apprehend our target.”, answered Jirou a bit tired, “If… we ever have catch up with this one that is.”

Jack smiled a bit but had to concur to the old man. They were running after this lunatic for a couple hours now. Every time they got close, she suddenly dropped off the radar and popped up again far away from her previous position. It was almost like she was taunting Jack and Jirou. The tracking device, which they used to track the runaway, wasn’t kaput because Jack could sense her reiatsu and the device was always pointing to the correct direction. When her signal disappeared from the radar, Jack didn’t completely lost track of her reiatsu. He had that strange feeling that her reiatsu was all over the place until it popped up again at some random location.

“Are you sure they gave us the right profile?” asked Jack. Right before they left Soul Society, they had received a piece of paper next to their assignment which sketched the profile of their escapee. Nothing too fancy of course, just a short resume of the girl’s career as Shinigami. ‘Belongs to the 11th division… Not seated… No immediate threat…’. Jack wondered for a minute how his resume would look like. But his daydreaming was quickly interrupted by an upset Jirou.

“For the third time: yes… And no, I don’t know how a not seated girl who poses no immediate threat keeps disappearing in thin air!” replied Jirou a bit agitated.

Staring into the distance, Jack stopped on top of a big chimney. Bending through his knees, Jack looked back and putted forward in a sober tone: “I’m tired of this cat and mouse game. We’re just running after her without a decent plan, we should split up. If you approach her from the northwest, I’ll move toward her from the northeast.”

“Sounds like a plan. Grab these and stay in contact the whole time,” responded Jirou who was amazed by Jack’s sudden seriousness as he threw a couple of earphone towards his young friend, “Happy hunting, boy.” Disappearing in a flash, Jack spurted towards the earphones and grabbed them mid-air while performing an elegant summersault.

He felt the excitement run through his body as he began to ran faster and faster over the rooftops of the sober city. There wasn’t that much to say about this city, except for the fact that it was abandoned to make room for some nuclear power factory. All the houses were close to ruinous and the small amount of parks were overgrown with all sorts of weeds giving it a sort of post apocalyptic look. Due to some cars riding around, there were some signs of life. Plugging in his earphones, he heard Jirou testing out the communication devices. “I can hear you loud and clear, my friend. Time for some good hunting.” answered Jack as he laid his right hand over the white handle of his Zanpaktou.

He tried to calm himself because being excited doesn’t help one when he’s on a mission. Breathing in slowly, Jack remembered an old rule of himself: “Excitement leads to actions based on emotions, actions based on emotions lead to mistakes, so remain calm.” As his heartbeat slowed down, all of a sudden the reiatsu signal of the runaway girl was all over the place again. “Jirou…,” said a heavy breathing Jack as he abruptly stopped in front of a high building which used to be an apartment where hundreds of people were all stuffed up in one place.
“She’s gone again, goddamn!” yelled Jirou.

As he tried to stutter something through his microphone, Jack couldn’t move one muscle. He had never experienced this kind of feeling. This was totally different than all the other times that the deserter’s signal disappeared! Like before, the reiatsu of the girl was everywhere but now it felt so unbelievable strong, almost as if gravity increased a hundred times. Slowly reaching for his Zanpaktou with all his power, Jack stumbled: “She’s … c-c-close…”. As a high pitch laugh suddenly pierced through Jack’s ears, Jacked grabbed his Zanpaktou and unsheathed it. Sluggishly placing his left foot in front of the other one and bending through his knees with his Zanpaktou held in both hands, Jack realized that he’s vulnerable for any sort of attack.

“I’m on my way! Stay where you are!” shouts a fearful Jirou through his microphone. “I’m not going anywhere my old friend…,” thought Jack as sweat drops ran down his face, “It’s ridiculous how much effort it takes to even move around.” Even breathing was though in this hostile environment where Jack was in. As a red flare abruptly flashed through the top floor of the apartment, Jack’s heart almost stopped of fear. Every half of a second the red flare went a floor down enlightening the entire floor in a crimson red color in the process. The atmosphere surrounding Jack became more dense and was almost forcing him to kneel down.

As the red flare reached the ground floor, a burst of red light raced towards the still immovable Jack. Staring into the frightening phenomenon, Jack saw an entity rise. A red haired woman, who was slightly smiling, with intriguing big crimson red eyes was looking right into his. Jack wouldn’t probably admitted it at that moment but the woman in front of him was breathtaking. She seemed to be around the same age of him, maybe even a little younger. How could such a beautiful appearance shelter such a raw power.

As Jack felt a cold sharp metal carefully kissing his neck, the red-haired girl slowly opened her mouth: “So they send someone like you to catch someone like me?”

“Yeah…”

Last Kido doesn't have a name. No techniques, are you certain?

Is that RP sample your average post, or one of your best samples?

Ah I forgot to write that I'm still working on them. I wanted to get some feedback about the rest of my application. I've added the name of the Kido, it seemed to get lost during the copy and pasting.

Is that RP sample your average post, or one of your best samples?
Eeeerm, I guess it's not one of my best but I wanted to write something with suspense about his first encounter with the red haired female. I just wrote it last week with the rest of my application so... Why?

Ah, if this is work in progress, try to mark the title with WiP or such. It confuses the staffs, ahaha.

Okay, I've changed the title.

How about the rest of the application? Because I only have to write the technique section and I want to know if the rest of the application is up to standard before moving on.
