Looks:
Kenji has been graced with light blue hair and dark brown eyes. His hair style is set up so that it is medium length that reaches to his chin, though he makes it so that his two bangs curves enough to get out of his left eye. His right eye though is normally covered with the right bang. Kenji’s skin is a fairly smooth shade of lightness.
Kenji is also a somewhat skinny person, but still keeps in enough shape to show that he deserves the title of Captain even at his age. Though Shinigami are normally required to wear a Shinigami robe with sandals and such, Kenji has a different attire that he has collected over many years of hunting and customizing, though he stills wears his Shinigami robe over it to keep from getting into any trouble.
The attire comes set with goggles that have an elastic handle to it, a necklace that he made himself, an arm guard on his left arm as well as a pretty old glove that he’s had since graduating from the Shinigami Academy which he holds with tape and rarely takes off.
He also doesn’t wear the regular Shinigami sandals, rather he wears a pair of dark shoes. He also wears baggy white pants with custom made by spray paint stripes. They also are strapped with laces that he sometimes places various items in. His top is something that somewhat resembles a short Chinese dress, though Kenji simply calls it a top for obvious reasons. He also wears a small piece of metal covered with soft pads to keep from chest injures.
Personality: Kenji is the type to go in head first rather than just be patient. He tends to work very well with others, but has a bit a shy personality when around females, tending to blush a little when around them. He will usually be mellow, calm and lazy though, tending to either be combat training or reading up on any techniques he should learn. Kenji also likes to read a good story from time to time. He is always ready to impress and show anyone, what he is capable of. Kenji has a tendency to joke around a lot with sarcasm as his specialty, but knows when it is time to get serious.
He’s the type of person that doesn't demand respect from anyone just because he’s of a higher rank unless a special case because he likes to treat everyone the way he would like to be treated. He also likes to customize about everything to make himself unique. Kenji also has a slight hesitation when it comes to hurting/injuring/killing anyone, especially in a very painful manner due so he would usually only inflict non crippling types of damage. Despite that, Kenji is actually quite easy to anger, which may or may not be his downfall in the long run.
When Kenji gets angry, his whole philosophy on pain changes and he would try to inflict as much damage as he can, but only if his anger reaches to the point to where it gets personal, which is a rare occasion because he doesn't have many people he has close relations to or a deep hatred for.
Kenji is also a person that finds it hard to trust someone right off the bat, no matter who they are. He tends to act rather paranoid around strange people and is quick to refuse to give out too much information on himself.

History: When Kenji was alive, He was a very respective young boy who only spoke when spoken to, his parents were very strict and so he was always the quiet type. Kenji didn’t have many friends except one, Kiyoshi Hikaru. The friends did everything together, play, hang out, and even get picked on from time to time. When he became a high school student, Kenji was accepted into the cool crowd of kids and Kenji was extremely happy to be accepted to the realm of high school. But there were complications, his best friend, Kiyoshi. The cool kids didn’t like Kiyoshi very much because he was also the quiet type and they told him not to hang out with him anymore. Kenji, desperate to finally become accepted, gradually grew farther from his friend, basically ending their friendship. One day, the day before summer, the cool kids decided to have their annual “freshman beat down” where they would select a freshman and give him the beating of a lifetime. Kenji was reluctant to the invite because he felt that it was morally wrong, but participated when he was informed that this would be his initiation. When they tracked down their victim, Kenji was planning on just sucking it up and getting the job done.
When he was ready to get started, Kenji was horrified when he realized that the victim that they had chosen was Kiyoshi himself. Now Kenji had a choice to make, beat up his best friend to be accepted or lose his chance get a high school pass. They gave him the bat, but Kenji just stood there not knowing what to do. When he hesitated, one of the cool kids took the bat from Kenji, saying that he’ll do it. But as soon as the kid initiated the attack, Kenji stood in between Kiyoshi and the kid, stopping him. Then Kenji punched him in the face and started a brawl, Kenji and Kiyoshi, now friends again, ended up fighting the whole crew. They were able to take out a few off them, but Kiyoshi was soon pushed into a river which was running heavily. Seeing as his best friend was about to drown, Kenji jumped in the river after him. He was able to save him and take him to land, but Kenji was soon swept away as the river flowed heavier. Kenji tried his best to swim out of it, but to no avail. Help came on the way and eventually took him out of the river, but it was too late, Kenji Akira had already drowned.

Kenji awoke soon after to find his parents and his best friend crying. When he sat up he noticed a chain attached to his chest and wondered what was going on. He got up and walked over to his parents and friend, asking what was wrong. After getting slightly frustrated when they never answered them, Kenji went over to see what was going on. He had a shocked look on his face as he saw his own body laying there beneath them, Kenji was dead. After a few days, the shocked left him and Kenji started to get bored with being a ghost. He could talk to anyone, except for other ghost but they only showed up ever once in a while and he was chained to this damn river.
While just sitting around, Kenji noticed Kiyoshi getting bullied once again by the same boys that pretty much killed him. Kenji went over there in a futile attempt to help him when he noticed that Kiyoshi could hear him. After he noticed this, Kenji told Kiyoshi that he should fight back because he was there with him and he wouldn’t abandon him anymore. With a little more motivation from his best friend, Kiyoshi fought back. Basic summery, he took them all out, minus a few serious bruises, Kiyoshi did really good for himself. Then, Kenji noticed something, it was a hollow and it was going straight for Kiyoshi. Usually when faced with a hollow, Kenji would run and/or hide, not this time. Knowing his friend was in danger, he went right in front of the charging hollow and grabbed it by the teeth, pushing it back as much as he could, while trying to tell Kiyoshi to run. After a quick hesitation from hearing his friend struggling, Kiyoshi finally complied. But the hollow soon overpowered Kenji and went after Kiyoshi. Kenji stared at it, horrified and helpless as the hollow closed in on its meal. All of a sudden, the hollow split in two as a blade seemingly went through it.
A shinigami had just taken out the hollow that threatened his best fiend’s life. After being bombarded with thank yous from Kenji, the shinigami informed him that he needed to perform a konso on him, but Kenji stated that he wanted the make sure that his best friend was ok so the shinigami gave him a day to say good bye. The next day, Kenji saw Kiyoshi walking down the same path by the river so he went to him to have a chat. Kenji was informed that thanks to him standing up to the bullies, he was finally accepted and had many friends. Kenji was happy about this and sad at the fact that he had to leave his friend, but Kiyoshi understood that Kenji needed to move on. After sharing one more heart felt good bye, Kiyoshi departed, happy that both of them were able to make amends. The Shinigami soon made his way to the river to inform Kenji that it was time. Now finally at peace, Kenji obliged and received the Konso, passing on to the soul society.

Kenji’s life, or afterlife, in the soul society didn’t leave Kenji feeling as good as when he moved on. He was moved to one of the poor areas of the Rukan district and was often attacked and/or robbed, etc. Kenji was starting to get sick of this so one day, as someone he was being robbed again just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Kenji took a stick and beat the men that were robbing him in one fell swoop. A Shinigami witnessed this and offered Kenji a chance to join the academy so he may one day become a Shinigami, seeing as the boy held a very interesting fighting style. Remembering the Shinigami that saved his best friend, Kenji was quick to accept so took the entrance exams, passing with high remarks. Kenji was accepted into the spiritual arts academy.
Once accepted Kenji wasn’t treated very good, partially because he was new and partially because he was so young. The high ranks would always treat him like some inexperience kid, probably because he was an inexperienced kid, but they always went about it in a harsh fashion. Even though he was yelled at constantly, looked down upon, Kenji trained and studied extremely hard. Kenji graduated after 6 years in the academy, being the youngest graduate of that year. After much thought, or eeny meenie miney moe guessing, Kenji chose to apply for the 7th squad and was accepted into an unseated position, but was put into consideration for a seated position once he had a little more experience. Thoughout decades of work and practice, Kenji was finally able to grab a 3rd seat position. After being in this position for not but a few days, Kenji was then recruited to First Division Vice Captain.
Once he was appointed to Lieutenant, Kenji’s workload would severely increase to a point where he was almost at the brink of becoming overwhelmed by the job, instead of just going back to his laid-back lifestyle. Pretty soon, some attempted to question his promotion and his never die hard personality would kick in once again. Kenji put himself into sever training, starting with being able to handle Captain Commander level Spiritual Pressure, along with being able to hold his own against Captain level opponents, etc. Until he could not take it anymore, but he would keep going even then and progressed quickly.

- The sun was particularly not visible at the moment, blocked by way too many clouds in the sky that did not seem to be in a very good mood due to their unusually, but not too unusual dark gray color and their violent outbursts of electrical currents running through them. All of a sudden, the atmospheric discharge of electricity in the clouds started to act up as a small form of lightning came out of them. The sudden increase in pressure and temperature from the lightning produced rapid expansion of the air surrounding and within a bolt of lightning. In turn, this expansion of air created a sonic shock wave which produces the sound of thunder. Oddly, there was no rain coming from the clouds, just a spontaneous spice of lightning, a clap of thunder to accompany it and a nice, ranging from small to big, combustion of fire created from that very piece of lightning itself.
Strangely enough, the sudden lightning/thunder storm was sot necessarily work of nature. Maybe one can call it a work of nature but no one would be able to say that this work of nature didn’t come from a little bit of help from Spiritual Pressure causing the atmospheric discharge of electricity within the current clouds and even drew them together for a bit more velocity and power. Well, if you would believe that then you’d also believe that the five foot and four inched dark silver colored and slightly curved blade accompanied by a six inched handle that was stabbed onto a rock about five feet into the air that was giving off static electricity and shooting up a bit of Spiritual Pressure automatically was the one creating these lightning strikes. Right behind it and keeping her left foot on the piercing blade was a beautiful young woman with long, purple hair that went down to the ground a small book in her hand, nodding continuously as she flipped through each page, seemingly ignoring the lightning bolts coming down from the clouds as she sat with her back against another small boulder behind her and her right knee up.
She also seemed to be ignoring the white haired boy that was panting frantically from dodging that last lightning bold, which would make it… he apparently lost track of how much at 87. The boy placed his hand on his knees as he leaned down on them for a bit to catch a breather from the training he had been enduring for several hours at a time. He was still in slight shock however, no pun intended, when he had found out that Hirameku was actually a girl. He knew that a Zanpaktou is supposed to be your partner in battle and part of your soul, but Kenji was a bit skeptical. Did her appearance actually mean that Kenji was a part of an extremely attractive female with a cup size big enough to make Kool-Aid in? If so, then Kenji had to look into finding himself a girl quick.
Kenji snapped the thought out of his head for a second as his reflexes and adrenaline acted out for him, causing the Shinigami make a dive for it as yet another lightning bolt came out of the sky and struck the grass floor, creating an intense spark to mark its territory. He rolled as he landed on the ground until he was on his right knee and his left sole was on top of the grass. Kenji wondered exactly how much longer did he have to train non-stop like this before results would start to kick in. The only results he seemed to be getting are an extreme case of sweat, muscle contractions that were bound to show up in the morning with a greeting of some good old fashion pain, acceleration of heart and lung action, paling, Tunnel vision, and uncontrollable shaking on his part.
The constant rumbles and grumbles of the formally violent clouds stopped as Hirameku too her left foot from the blade that was pierced onto the ground, still reading on her book, finishing the last few words and finally closing it. She then jumped from her position and landed next to the boy. “Well, that would be enough for today. Hmm… You seem wasted.” Kenji just stared at the woman with a blank expression right before collapsing on the floor. Hirameku simply giggled a bit. “Well, you still have to go to that little tea party you set up with your Captain, right?" Kenji said nothing, the musles that controlled his jaw refusing to move to he just laid there for a second.
Hirameku just shrugged at it and snapped her fingers, a bright light escaping them for a second before she disappeared from Kenji’s view so he figured that he wasn’t in his Spirit World any longer, just regular Soul Society. The Sixty three year old Shinigami finally spoke before he felt like it was time to get up, his voice giving off a bit of an echo due to the effects of his Bankai. “Our bodies are given life from the midst of nothingness. Existing where there is nothing is the meaning of the phrase, "Form is emptiness." That all things are provided for by nothingness is the meaning of the phrase, "Emptiness is form." One should not think that these are two separate things.” For over half a decade of his life, that rung into his head, an image of when his former best friend first said it to him appeared in his mind, the meaning of it still bringing up unanswered questions.
Nevertheless, Kenji did have a certain meeting to get to so he sat up, the gravity somehow feeling a bit lighter now that he was in the comfort of his own home of the First Division Barracks. He rolled back onto his back but continued until he was on his hands and standing up, landing on his feet. Kenji then cracked his neck up a bit and shook a little to get the cobwebs out before picking up the handle on his giant Zanpaktou. He then went on to turn in over so that he blade was facing his waist so that he could sheath the Zanpaktou.
The second before the blade would touch the sheath, he reverted back to his normal form that came complete with light blue hair and his regular shinigami clothes right ahead of his custom wear. Once he was done sheathing, Kenji just walked on over to the building that lead to the meeting area that wasn’t too far from him, still not able to breath quite right though. Not feeling like using anymore energy, Kenji took it upon himself to actually walk there instead of flashstepping, though that was one of his best known for talents, and while doing so he thought a little bit of his experience with Kaji over the course of the past few months, the things he said about Kiyoshi and how they were connected, but the stress of the situation combined with intense training only gave him a headache.
Once he finally made it there, Kenji blinked a few times and shook his head, smacking himself in the face a bit as if to wake himself up. ‘Alright, let’s do this.’ He then placed his right hand on the doorknob and twisted it, pushing it over as it opened. Kenji just took one step forward before his left knee buckled, it appeared that Kenji really was wiped out due to the lack of concentration that was causing his body to react to 2 Captains and a Captain Commander in one room. Normally, this would be something he could take with sheer willpower alone but ones body could only handle so much if you don’t treat it right. Kenji just inhaled deeply and exhaled, collecting himself once again.
For right now, Kenji was due in a type of meeting with Kaji Kanto, Lee Kazura , and Kyouken Shikyo, a bit of some new faces around here. But unlike most shinigami his rank, Kenji wasn’t intimidated at meeting such high figures, it actually caused him to strive off of it because the more that could only make him mentally stronger if it didn’t kill him, no pun intended once again. Hell, he remembered when Lee was Kaji’s old Third Seat and then just went up to Vice and now Captain. Some may think, Kenji included, that he was Captain material himself in terms of will, but some also thought, Kenji not included, that Kenji was too young and inexperienced for the rank, though Kenji would normally be quick to prove them wrong, he just didn’t know how to provide a good argument to that.
Taking the though out of his head for a bit, Kenji sat down in his corresponding seat and waited for the next step in said meeting. His never say anything unless said to, or dissed, personality automatically kicking in.
